About the event

Rosh Hashanah at 10:00AM

Rosh HaShanah is the first holiday of the Jewish High Holiday season. It means “the head of the year” although it takes place on the first day of Tishrei which is the seventh month on the Jewish civil calendar. Our services includes traditional as well as Messianic prayers through which we reflect on God’s kingship, His remembrance of His people, and the revelation of God’s ultimate redemption. During the service, we hear the blowing of the shofar (ram’s horn) as a call to repentance and attention to God. After the service, we enjoy apples and honey and honey cake, symbolic of our desire for a sweet new year.

Tashlich at 2:00PM at Creekside

In the afternoon, we proceed to a local river where we observe Tashlich, the casting of small stones into the water representing the casting away of our sins.

The Tashlich service is held at Creekside Park & Arboretum in Gahanna, just over a little wooden bridge at the part of Walnut Creek directly BEHIND Lew Griffin Insurance at 77 Mill Street. You park in the parking garage to the LEFT of [BE] Social Dress Boutique at 121 Mill Street and then walk to the site.
